LOGAN SQUARE — Revolution Brewing's Oktoberfest is hitting the streets for the first time.

The sixth annual Oktoberfest, set for Sept 29-30, will be held in front of the original brewpub, 2323 N. Milwaukee Ave., on Milwaukee between California and Fullerton avenues 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday.

It's a new format for the fest, which was held at the Avondale production facility/taproom, 3340 N. Kedzie Ave., the last five years.

Fest-goers can expect more live music at this year's festival. The current lineup includes Real Estate, Jeff Rosenstock, White Lung, (Sandy) Alex G. and Meat Wave.

There will be lots of Revolution beer, including an Oktoberfest-style lager, as well food and spirits from local spots like Chicago Distilling Company, Dönerman and The Radler.

Revolution is also planning to partner with other neighborhood bars along Milwaukee Avenue on DJ sets and after parties to coincide with the fest.

The brewery is asking for a $5 donation. The money raised will benefit Friends of Goethe School.
