GRAND BOULEVARD — Rapper Vic Mensa will perform and talk about health at this year’s 4th Ward Health and Housing Fair on Saturday.
Mensa, who grew up in Hyde Park, is scheduled to perform at the fair, which has been a 4th Ward tradition across several administrations that has continued under Ald. Sophia King.
This year’s fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Dyett High School for the Arts, 555 E. 51st St.
Also scheduled to appear are chef Mike Digby, who appeared on Food Network’s “Fat Chef” and Dr. Edwin K. McDonald IV, director of adult nutrition at University of Chicago Medicine.
The fair is free and provides health services like dental, blood pressure and hearing and vision screenings. There are also free school physicals for children, as well as a school supply giveaway and free haircuts for kids.
