CHICAGO — Shootings have killed one person and wounded nine since Thursday, police said.
Among the victims was a 24-year-old man shot inside a Red Line subway car Downtown.
• At 12:45 a.m. Friday, a 19-year-old man was shot to death in South Shore.
In non-fatal shootings:
• At 3:21 a.m. Friday, a 31-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was riding his bike in the 2000 block of North Newland Avenue when two people walked up to him and began a fight. One of the people took out a gun and fired shots.
The man was hit three times in his shoulder and once in his hip, police said. He was taken to Loyola Hospital in fair condition.
• At 2:25 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot while walking outside in West Humboldt Park.
• At 11:10 p.m. Thursday, a 19-year-old man was shot in Douglas, police said. The man was walking through a lot in the 2700 block of South State Street when three men or boys in hooded sweatshirts walked up to him and fired shots.
The man was hit in his left leg and he was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
• At 10:30 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in Chatham, police said. Officers were called to the 7900 block of South Drexel Avenue and found the wounded man.
The man had been shot in his right arm and he was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The man was uncooperative with officers, a police source said.
No further information was immediately available.
• At 9:20 p.m., three men were shot in Garfield Park, police said. The victims were in the 4800 block of West Ferdinand Street when they were hit.
A 28-year-old man was hit in his right hip and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
A 29-year-old man was shot in his right foot and he was taken to West Suburban Hospital. A 24-year-old man was hit in his right leg and he was taken to Stroger Hospital. Their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.
The shooting was possibly a drive-by, police said, but no further information was immediately available.
• At 9:15 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot while walking outside in Little Village.
• At 7:48 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot on a Red Line subway car Downtown.
No one was in custody in these shootings.
