By Kelly Bauer | August 18, 2017 7:47am

CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was shot in West Humboldt Park early Friday, police said.

At 2:25 a.m., the man was walking down the street in the 3900 block of West Thomas Street when a dark-colored car passed by and someone inside opened the car door and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his abdomen and he was taken to Norwegian American Hospital. He was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man is a documented gang member, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
