CHICAGO — Liberty Bank is inviting families to pet lizards and paint their faces at the bank's Family Summer Fest from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the bank's Norwood Park location, 7111 W. Foster Ave., organizers announced.

The street festival will feature snakes and other scaly critters from Dave DiNaso’s Traveling World of Reptiles, plus a life performance from the kid-friendly folk band The Dreamtree Shakers.

Also included will be a face-painting and a craft table offering the chance to make "hand-painted flower pots," organizers said.

With five locations in the city and suburbs, the community bank is throwing the party in an effort to be "focused on local families and being active in the neighborhood for each of their local branch offices," spokeswoman Kim Pierceall said.

The event is free and open to the public, but participants are asked to register online.
