HYDE PARK — Orangetheory Fitness is opening a new Hyde Park location in November.

Siblings Derek Hearne and Adryenne Hearne-Alvarez, owners of the South Loop location of the fitness studio franchise, will open a new location in November in the City Hyde Park development, 5111 S. Harper Avenue.

“The South Loop studio has been a great success and we are so excited at the opportunity to bring this new fitness experience to Hyde Park,” the owners said in the announcement Monday. “While there are many options for getting in a great workout in the city of Chicago, there is a reason Orangetheory Fitness is growing so rapidly, and that is because it is a true option for all levels incorporating state of the art technology in the fitness.”

The studio chain sets itself apart by strapping heart monitors to members and tracking their heart rates on a central leader board during workouts.

The fitness center joins anchor tenant Whole Foods and Michael’s and Marshalls in the development.
