#TBT: The Original Logan Square Public Library Circa 1910

By Mina Bloom | August 10, 2017 5:38am

LOGAN SQUARE — For #TBT, check out the original Logan Square public library circa 1910.

The old photo shows the library at the northwest corner of Sawyer and Fullerton avenues. Today, the site is home to the Social Security Administration building.

Here's what Logan Square Preservation has to say about the photo:

The original Logan Square Public Library, located at the northwest corner of Sawyer and Fullerton, pictured here around 1910. It eventually moved to the corner of Sawyer and Altgeld before finally locating on Fullerton just east of Albany. On this site today, the Social Security Administration recently constructed a building that shares scale and vague design notes with this building.

DNAinfo is partnering with Logan Square Preservation on a "Throwback Thursday" post each week. All photos are the property of Logan Square Preservation unless otherwise indicated.
