LOGAN SQUARE — A cellphone video shows thieves stealing two car wheels in about 90 seconds in Logan Square early Wednesday.
The theft happened about 2 a.m. at Drake and Schubert avenues, according to Andrew Diaz, a nearby resident who took the video on his cellphone. Police didn't immediately confirm the details.
The video shows the thief stealing the car's driver side front and rear wheels before hopping in a getaway car and speeding off.
Some people on social media, where the video was initially posted, criticized Diaz for taking a video rather than intervening.
To which Diaz replied: "Cops were called 3 times, and I confronted them in person twice. They came back around the 3rd time and didn't care who was watching at that point."
