ALBANY PARK — Bring paperwork with sensitive personal information to Albany Park's shredding event Thursday.

The event is being hosted by the Albany Park Police District CAPS office, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the parking lot across from the police station, 4651 N. Pulaski Road.

Among the documents people should consider shredding: bank statements, outdated medical records, pay stubs, credit card offers and old bills.

Documents should be removed from binders and any metal clips should also be detached from paper prior to shredding. If transporting paper in plastic bags, make sure to empty the paper from the bags.

The event is also an opportunity for folks who shred at home to recycle their paper scraps, which should not be placed in blue cart recycling bins. Drop off previously shredded paper Thursday and it will be recycled along with paper shredded on site.
