CHICAGO — A 46-year-old man was shot and killed in Gage Park on Thursday, police said.
At 11:34 a.m., the man was outside in the 5600 block of South Richmond Street when a black Cadillac SUV pulled up, police said. Someone inside the car fired shots.
The man was hit in his chest and he was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.
Abel Melesio, of the same block where he was shot, was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The attacker drove away, police said, and no one was in custody.
