LOGAN SQUARE — There's no need to leave the neighborhood to catch the upcoming solar eclipse.

Comfort Station is hosting a viewing party on its front lawn at 2579 N. Milwaukee Ave. from 11:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m. on the day of the eclipse, Aug. 21.

The nonprofit will provide certified eclipse glasses. Organizers will also project a live feed of the eclipse inside the building.

The solar eclipse is one rare instance where the moon almost completely blocks out the light of the sun for a short period of time.

Chicago hasn't been this close to a total solar eclipse since 1925, according to the Adler Planetarium.

Of course, Chicagoans won't have full visibility because the city never gets very dark.

So serious stargazers might want to travel to Southern Illinois, specifically Carbondale, to watch the cosmic spectacle, according to Chicago Magazine.
