EDGEWATER — The 5th Annual EdgeFest street festival hits North Broadway this weekend.

The event runs from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday (9 p.m. Sunday) between Thorndale and Ardmore and is free, though a $5 donation will earn fest-goers a seasonal card through the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce that applies discounts at local businesses.

To kick the event off, EdgeFest will feature its first pet parade beginning at 11 a.m. from the festival's south stage at Ardmore Avenue and Broadway, before heading south onto Victoria, Magnolia and Thorndale avenues, then back onto Broadway.

Inside, the family-friendly festival showcases dozens of food and shopping vendors, as well as live performances, music and an outdoor café for lounging.

Residents can also get a free beer at the fest by spending $30 this week at local businesses and presenting the receipts.
