LOGAN SQUARE — A 75-year-old man drowned in an XSport Fitness pool early Sunday, according to authorities.

The man was swimming in the pool at the gym, in the 2300 block of West Logan Boulevard, when he suffered cardiac arrest, according to Chicago police.

The man was transported to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:04 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The morgue performed an autopsy Monday morning, which revealed the man died of drowning and heart disease. Officials ruled the death an accident.

The man's identity hadn't been released Tuesday afternoon.
