Burglars Stole Car Tires From Jefferson Park Garages, Police Say

CHICAGO — Burglars have broken into at least five home garages in Jefferson Park and Wildwood since July 17, making off with "construction tools, bicycles and vehicle wheels," according to a police alert issued Sunday.

In each case, the intruders got into garages by "forcibly kicking or prying open the overhead or side door," police said.

The burglaries were reported at the following times and locations:

• Between 6:30 p.m. on July 17 and 5:15 a.m. on July 18 in the 4800 block of West Strong Street

• Between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on July 20 in the 4800 block of West Berteau Avenue

• Between 1 a.m. on July 20 and 4:25 p.m. on July 22 in the 7000 block of North Mason Avenue

• Between 6 p.m. on July 26 and 12:15 p.m. on July 27 in the 4800 block of West Ainslie Street

• Between 12:01 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July 29 in the 5400 block of North Nagle Avenue
