WOODLAWN — The Experimental Station is ditching the city officials and planners to have a conversation with just the community about plans for Jackson Park.

The community and arts venue at 6100 S. Blackstone Ave. will host a community conversation about South Side development from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, moderated by journalist Jamie Kalven.

Unlike the past month of meetings on plans for the Obama Presidential Center and the combining of the Jackson Park and South Shore golf courses, it won’t be led by officials from any of the projects, though they are invited to come and listen to comments.

The event is expected to be more of a chance for groups across the neighborhoods affected by the projects to discuss common concerns.

Space will be limited and people are encouraged to RSVP on the event website.
