UPTOWN — A proposal to bring a 54-unit building with retail space on the first floor and a rooftop deck to Uptown cleared its first hurdle this week.
Earlier this week, members of the Winona Foster Carmen Winona Block Club voted in favor of the proposal at 4906 N. Clark St., according to their Facebook page.
Rents in the building would run from $1,400-$2,600. The building would have three studio apartments, 36 one-bedroom units and 15 two-bedroom units, the block club said.
Site plans for the new four-story building include 29 parking spaces and 25 bicycle parking spaces. Parking will be indoor on the first floor.
The apartments would be on floors two through four, according to the site plans.
If approved by the city, developers hope to break ground in the spring.
