CHICAGO — A police dispatcher has been charged with shooting an 18-year-old woman in the chest in a fit of road rage in McKinley Park, police said.

Keli McGrath, 46, of South Kolin Avenue in the Southwest Side Scottsdale neighborhood, has been charged with aggravated battery, police said.

The shooting happened at 1:49 p.m. Wednesday in the 3400 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said.

McGrath and an 18-year-old woman were in traffic when they got into an argument that "turned physical," police said.

McGrath fired a shot at the woman, hitting her in her chest, police said.

During the incident, McGrath was hit in her head. The women were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.

McGrath was scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
