CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy was shot to death in Humboldt Park on Sunday, officials said.
At 12:17 a.m., the boy was a passenger in a car driving in the 1000 block of North Sacramento Avenue when someone in a black car fired shots, police said.
The boy was hit in his head and was taken to Norwegian American Hospital. He was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition, police said.
Alex Gonzalez, of suburban Bolingbrook, was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds in his head in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
