WICKER PARK — Do not worry, the neon Rainbo Club sign will be coming back.

"We are just cleaning up. I know how rumors get around in this day and age," said Rainbo Club owner Dee Taira, who owns the dive bar at 1150 N. Damen Ave. near the Damen and Division intersection.

Brick masonry workers removed the sign around 1 p.m. Tuesday. They told DNAinfo it could be one or two weeks before the neon sign is re-installed.

The tuckpointing will secure the bricks atop the old building. The sign needed to be removed temporarily, the worker said.

Taira said she is not planning to sell the bar, which she has owned since 1985. The bar dates back to the 1930s.

City building permit records show that the project involves replacing about 250 bricks on the eastern side of the building.
