Thieves Preying On Unlocked Homes And Garages On North Side

ALBANY PARK — Thieves are taking advantage of open windows and unlocked doors to steal from homes and garages in Albany Park, Irving Park and North Park, according to a community alert issued by tpolice.

In the case of a recent string of reported residential burglaries, none of the apartments were forcibly entered. Some of the garages were broken into, while others were unlocked, police said.

No offenders have been identified.

The times and locations of the residential burglaries:

• 4000 block of North Harding Avenue on July 2, between 11:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.

• 4700 block of North Central Park Avenue on July 4, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

• 4700 block of North Central Park Avenue on July 4-5, between 3 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

• 4600 block of North Monticello Avenue on July 5, between 2:45 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

The times and locations of the garage burglaries:

• 4800 block of North Springfield Avenue on July 1-2, between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.

• 5000 block of North St. Louis Avenue on July 5, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:59 p.m.

• 5400 block of North Kedzie Avenue between 7 p.m. July 2 and 12 p.m. July 6.

• 5300 block of North Christiana Avenue on July 7-8, between 10:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.
