Michael Ferguson, 34, Killed In North Lawndale Shooting; Another Wounded

CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was shot dead and another man wounded in North Lawndale early Sunday, officials said.

At 1:06 a.m., the men were standing on the sidewalk in the 3900 block of West Arthington Street when someone walked up and fired shots, police said.

The 34-year-old was hit in his neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

The man was identified as Michael Ferguson, of the 1400 block of North Linder, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Ferguson was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m. and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

A 32-year-old man was hit in his right leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but police said he was listed as "stable."

No one was in custody.
