IRVING PARK — It wouldn't be a Chicago summer festival without food, music and beer. Saturday's HornerFest has all of that — and a whole lot more.

The event kicks off at 8 a.m. in Horner Park, 2741 W. Montrose Ave., and the fun doesn't stop until well after dark.

Highlights of the family fun day:

Theatre Hikes presents "Around the World in 8 Plays," 11 a.m.

• Ultimate Ninjas (formerly Junior Ninja Warriors) is setting up an outdoor course, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

• Tano's Pizzeria is hosting a pizza eating contest, 4:30 p.m.

• "Toy Story" will screen on the big hill, at dusk.

Kids activities, including bounce houses, run 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The complete schedule is posted online. Note: All slots for previously announced tours of the park's restored riverbank have been filled.

Tickets are still available for Friday's inaugural Horner Park Brew Fest.
