LOGAN SQUARE — Looking for a new, under-the-radar cocktail spot in the neighborhood?

Chiya Chai, the Nepalese cafe at 2770 N. Milwaukee Ave. known for its huge selection of chai tea, curries and dumplings, is now serving cocktails infused with unique spices from Nepal and nearby regions.

The menu, which officially launched last week, includes drinks like the rum chai tea ($10), which is made with Kahlua, white rum, almond milk, rice milk, Masala chai mix, vanilla and cinnamon, and the Maharaja ($10), which contains gin, cardamom, rosewater, the essence of pandanus (an Asian subtropical plant), cinnamon, blueberry juice, lemon juice and triple sec.

Cocktails and select appetizers are available for $2 off during happy hour 4-6 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.

Chiya Chai was opened last year by a family with deep roots in the tea industry stretching all the way to Nepal.

The Malabar is on Chiya Chai's new cocktail menu.

The family focuses on chai, with at least 15 options of the specialty, while also serving up food from a number of regions where tea has had a big influence such as India, Nepal, China and England.
