JACKSON PARK — Jackson Park’s lawn bowlers are inviting the community to come to the park’s bowling green to try a day of bowling for free.

Amid all the debate about the park, the twin bowling greens and adjoining clubhouse have gone largely unnoticed and overlooked.

But the Lakeside Lawn Bowling Club is inviting the community out every Saturday and Sunday to try the sport for free.

The club is offering open play starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. The club will lend people equipment while they are learning.

For more information, visit the club’s website.

The bowling greens are off Lake Shore Drive on Science Drive behind the Museum of Science and Industry.
