CHICAGO — A 42-year-old man was shot and killed in Englewood early Wednesday, police said.
At 3:32 a.m., the man was found lying on the sidewalk in the 6200 block of South Laflin Street. The man had been shot multiple times throughout his body.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Robert Hicks, of the first block of East 89th Street, was pronounced dead at 4:12 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
No one was in custody.
