CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was shot dead in Auburn Gresham early Wednesday, police said.
At 1:44 a.m., the man was standing in the street in the 7900 block of South Paulina Street when someone walked up to him and fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
Devonte Morgan, of the 700 block of East 73rd Street, was pronounced dead at 3:05 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The man's age was not immediately available.
No one was in custody.
