NORTH MAYFAIR — Celebrate the nation's independence by marching in, or cheering on, North Mayfair's annual Fourth of July parade.
Dig into the closet for red, white and blue clothing, decorate your bike, stroller, wagon or scooter and you'll be parade-ready. A prize will be handed out for best "float."
Participants should begin assembling at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Palmer Elementary parking lot, Kostner and Carmen avenues. The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m., with police and Palmer's color guard serving as escorts along the route.
For spectators, the parade route from the parking lot will be: north on Kostner, east on Carmen, south on Tripp, east on Ainslie, north on Keeler, east on Carmen to Little Gompers Park, east of the tennis courts by the lagoon.
Post-parade, enjoy refreshments, carnival games, a prize raffle, and face painting for kids.
