Gresham Police Warn Of String Of Robberies

AUBURN GRESHAM — Police are warning residents in the Gresham District to be on alert after several recent robberies.

In these incidents one person either used force or showed a gun and demanded property, police said.

The incidents occurred:

• At 6 a.m. June 6 in the 7900 Block of South Vernon Avenue

• At 9 a.m. June 12 in the 7700 block of South Greenwood Avenue

• At 2:45 p.m. June 26 in the 7900 block of South Dobson Avenue

• At 4:35 a.m. June 27 in the 1000 block of East 79th Street

• At 4:19 p.m. June 29 in the 7700 block of South Dobson Avenue

• At 6:25 p.m. June 29 in the 7600 block of South Vernon Avenue

Police said the robbers are black males, 18-29 years of age, 5-feet-4 to 6-feet-3, 140-210 pounds, with light/medium/dark complexions and varying hairstyles including an afro, braids, dreadlocks and short hair.

In another alert, police warned of a separate series of robberies.

The people involved have approached victims with weapons and have demanded property. In some instances they have used force to take items without using a weapon.

Recent incidents have taken place in the:

• at 4:50 p.m. May 16 in the 1600 block of West 83rd Street

• at 10:23 p.m. June 5 in the 1700 block of West 86th Street

• at 8:30 p.m. June 21 in the 8100 block of South Bishop Street

• at 11:45 a.m. June 22 in the 8300 block of South Ashland Avenue

• at 3:30 p.m. June 24 in the 8300 block of South Ashland Avenue

The offenders were described as African-American males, 14-27 years of age, 5-foot-4 to 6-feet and 130-200 pounds, with varying complexions and hairstyles.
