CHICAGO — Two people were shot to death and a third wounded in Grand Boulevard early Sunday, police said.
At 1:30 a.m., the victims were in the 4200 block of South State Street when they were shot, police said. Officers were called to the scene and found a 31-year-old man shot in his head and a 49-year-old man shot in his right arm.
The 31-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Robert Cooley, 31, of the 4100 block of South Prairie Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The 49-year-old man took himself to Mercy Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said. A third victim, a 47-year-old man, was shot in his head and taken to Mercy Hospital.
Arthur Smith, 47, of the 4000 block of South King Drive, was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m., according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
The circumstances of the shooting were unknown.
No one was in custody.
