Alfonso Toro Jr. And Gloria Aguilar Killed In Grand Boulevard Shooting

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were shot to death in Grand Boulevard on Friday morning, police said.

At 7:10 a.m., the two were passengers in a car driving in the 4100 block of South State Street when the driver stopped at a light, police said. A black SUV pulled alongside the victims' car, and someone in the SUV fired shots.

The driver drove off to get away from the shooting and stopped in the 5400 block of South Wentworth Avenue, police said.

A 22-year-old man was hit in his head, back and shoulder and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man was identified as Alfonso Toro Jr., of the 4700 block of South Loomis Street, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Toro was pronounced dead at 7:32 and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

A 23-year-old woman was hit in her torso multiple times and in her right arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

Gloria Aguilar, of the 5800 block of South Tripp Street, was pronounced dead at 10:33 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed she died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The driver and another passenger were not wounded.

The man killed was a documented gang member, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
