HYDE PARK — There’s one event for the 4th of July that’s almost mandatory for Hyde Parkers: the 4th on 53rd Parade.

The annual parade is open to just about anyone who wants to march through the neighborhood with local elected officials, community groups and others at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The parade kicks off from 54th Street and Old Lake Park Avenue in the Hyde Park Bank parking lot with bike decorating for kids at 10 a.m.

The march through the neighborhood starts at 11 a.m. and goes south on Lake Park Avenue to 55th Street, east to Hyde Park Boulevard, north to 53rd Street and then west to end at Nichols Park, 1355 E. 53rd St.
