CHICAGO — A 17-year-old was gunned down in Austin on Thursday night, police said.
At 11:14 p.m., officers were called to the 5900 block of West Thomas Street and found the teen lying on the sidewalk, police said. The teen had been shot in his buttocks.
Ahmadd Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The victim was a documented gang member, a police source said.
No one was in custody.
