CHICAGO — A woman was raped in Gage Park last week after a stranger pushed her into his minivan in an alley, police said Tuesday.
The attack happened about 3:15 p.m. June 4 as a 23-year-old woman walked through an alley in the 5500 block of South Mozart Street, police said in a community alert released Tuesday afternoon.
A Hispanic man in his 40s stepped out of a black minivan and pushed the victim inside through a side door before continuing to drive down the alley, police said. He soon stopped and raped the woman in the back of the van, which did not have seats.
After the attack, police said, the man kicked the victim out of his car and drove south.
Officers said the suspect was about 5-foot-5 or 5-foot-6 and weighed about 200 pounds. He had a "medium brown complexion" and a tattoo of two red lips on the side of his neck. The man wore a black T-shirt and dark gray sweatpants.
According to the victim, the minivan had a sticker of a white chubby man in the driver's side rear window.
Police ask anyone with information to call detectives at 312-747-8380 and mention report No. JA298324.
