LINCOLN SQUARE — There are bubbling fountains and then there are bubbly fountains.

Every so often, an unsanctioned dose of some sort of foaming agent — dish soap? laundry detergent? shampoo? — transforms Giddings Fountain into a frothy cascade of suds.

The fanciful bit of foolery, playfully executed with a dash of subversiveness, never fails to charm.

Company That Makes The Cutest Bow Ties For Toddlers Launching Line For Dads

HYDE PARK — The Little Dapper Collection offers super cute bow ties for babies and toddlers. Now the company started by a Bronzeville woman is launching a line for dads.

The Little Dapper Collection, an online children’s fashion company, will showcase matching father-and-son bow ties at a fundraiser and fashion show Saturday in time for Father’s Day.

This Brewery Has A Bowling Alley — And You Can Eat And Drink There (VIDEO)

LINCOLN PARK — There's only one spot if you're trying to bowl a few frames while knocking back a Chicago-brewed beer.

That's Burnt City Brewing, 2747 N. Lincoln Ave., which boasts eight lanes for customers alongside craft brews and a full menu. The lanes are at their most popular when the weather gets warmer in the spring and summer — and they're a hit among other brewers, who compete in a Chicago brewers league.

The Ultimate Cereal Bar Is Opening On The South Side

AVALON PARK— A new kind of bar soon will be opening on the South Side.

But instead of liquor, this one will offer patrons 50 brands of cereal and over 20 toppings, including pop rock candy, chocolate chips and gummy bears.

And they can feast on their concoctions from the comfort of a table — or throne.

Chatham resident Mark Walker, of “Oooh Wee Sweet Tea,” came up with the concept.

Pie-Crust Ice Cream Cones — Yes, Really — Now On Spinning J's Secret Menu

HUMBOLDT PARK — Calling all dessert enthusiasts: Spinning J is taking the ice cream cone to a whole new level.

Last month, the retro bakery and soda fountain at 1000 N. California Ave. started selling handmade ice cream cones made with its signature pie crust dough to serve as a vessel for Black Dog gelato.

The buttery, crunchy cones have been flying out the door, which is telling considering they're currently a secret menu item.

Full Chicago Blues Fest Lineup Includes Rhymefest, Billy Branch

DOWNTOWN — Rhymefest, John Primer and Nellie "Tiger" Travis are among the headliners playing the Chicago Blues Festival this year, which will be held for the first time entirely in Millennium Park after decades under the Petrillo Music Shell.

The 34th annual Chicago Blues Festival will explore the influence of urban blues on subsequent genres such as hip hop and R&B, the city announced.
