ALBANY PARK — Business owners in Albany Park should be on guard after a pair of stores in the neighborhood were recently robbed, police said.
In both incidents, a man threw a rock or cinder block through a window or door and, after shattering the glass, entered the business and stole property and money, according to a community alert issued by the Albany Park 17th Police District.
The suspect is described as a black man, 20 to 30 years old, weighing 150 to 180 pounds and five-feet-eight-inches to six-feet-two-inches tall.
The incidents occurred:
• 3000 block of West Montrose Avenue, May 29 at 9:33 p.m.
• 4700 block of North Kedzie Avenue, June 7 at 12:23 a.m.
Police advise business owners to equip their shops with a working video surveillance system and burglar alarm.
