String Of Homes Burglarized In Albany Park And Irving Park, Police Warn

ALBANY PARK — Police are warning people to be extra vigilant about locking windows and doors after a string of residential burglaries in Albany Park and Irving Park.

The incidents all took place in an area bounded by Lawrence Avenue, Irving Park Road, Kimball Avenue and Pulaski Road, according to a community alert issued by the Albany Park (17th) Police District.

The thief or thieves entered the homes through a window or door and stole property, police said.

The burglaries occurred:

• 4100 block of North Avers Avenue, May 17, between 6:10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

• 3600 block of West Berteau Avenue, May 18, between 9 a.m. and 7:20 p.m.

• 4700 block of North Central Park Avenue, between 5:10 a.m. on May 20 and 8:30 p.m. on May 21.

• 4700 block of North Lawndale Avenue, May 24, between 6:20 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

• 4500 block of North Central Park Avenue, June 2, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

• 3400 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, June 6, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:42 p.m.

No description of the suspect(s) is available.

Police reminded neighbors to pay attention to suspicious people loitering in the area and told residents to only inform trusted friends or family of out-of-town plans.
