Knife-Wielding Robber Strikes Twice On North Side

ALBANY PARK — Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed two victims at knifepoint in separate incidents in the Albany Park and Kilbourn Park neighborhoods.

In both cases, the man approached the victims from behind, displayed a knife and then proceeded to steal their property, according to a community alert issued by the Albany Park (17th) Police District.

The man is described as Hispanic, 25-32 years old, 130-160 pounds, and 5-feet-7 to 6-feet tall.

The robberies occurred in the:

• 3700 block of West Wilson Avenue at 5:20 a.m. on June 1

• 4100 block of West Melrose Street at 10:30 p.m. June 6

Police warned people not to park in the rear of a residence if a suspicious person is seen nearby. Instead, drive to a safe place nearby and call 911, police said.
