CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man has been charged with shooting a man in South Chicago on Wednesday, police said.

At 12:53 p.m., Malon Moore was seen walking up to a 39-year-old man and firing shots at him, according to a Chicago Police news release. The victim was hit in his legs and taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but police said he was listed as "stable."

Moore ran away to a home in the 7900 block of South Escanaba Avenue, where he lives, and was arrested after he tried to escape out the back of the home, police said.

Moore has been charged with aggravated discharge of a gun and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, police said.

Moore was scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
