CHICAGO — The Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox Ave., will turn into a one-stop shop for seniors on the lookout for resources, benefits and check-ups on Wednesday.

Organized by the agents at Minton-Regan Properties, the Senior Living Expo will feature more than two dozen vendors specialized in guiding elders and their families through every step of retirement and beyond.

Booths will be manned by attorneys and insurance experts ready to guide seniors through processes like home sales, reverse mortgages, will drafting and life insurance enrollment. Employees of the state treasurer's office will also run individual searches for potential unclaimed funds.

Medical offices will send representatives to offer on-site screenings and massages, plus an item called a "jazzy air power wheelchair." Visitors can also consult a dietician from Jewel-Osco.

Attendees will be able to enter a raffle with a "multitude" of prizes, organizers said, including grocery store gift cards and treats from Eli's Cheesecake.

Coffee, tea and snack platters will be set out during the event as well, organizers said.

Admission to the Senior Living Expo is free, but attendees are asked to RSVP online. The event is scheduled to run from 1-5 p.m. on Wednesday.
