CHICAGO — Armour Square native Timothy Khuu has received a paid internship in the Strategic Projects department at Exelon's Constellation subsidiary.

The 17-year-old Lincoln Park High School junior was honored recently at an Exelon Stay in School session.

Khuu has been a longtime participant in the Stay in School initiative founded in 2006 by Exelon, ComEd and the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.

“Without the Stay in School program, I wouldn't have the opportunity to intern at Exelon this summer and I wouldn’t be excelling in school like I am now," Khuu said. "I'm excited to gain real-world experience, and I couldn't have done it without the help and support of my Exelon mentors.”

The Stay in School program serves 2,310 students. Khuu was one of five offered corporate internships, while eight others received internships with nonprofit organizations.

“Timothy's success speaks to why Exelon is so passionate about the Stay in School Program," said Justine Jentes, community engagement manager at Exelon. "We are thrilled to award him with this internship, and we know he will make an excellent addition to our Strategic Projects department this summer.”
