ALBANY PARK — Ald. Deb Mell (33rd) and Cmdr. Elias Voulgaris of the Albany Park Police District will lead a town hall meeting on public safety Thursday.

The forum is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Roosevelt High School, 3436 W. Wilson Ave.

The police district's boundaries are Belmont Avenue to the south, Devon Avenue to the north, the Chicago River to the east and Cicero Avenue to the west.

Communities served by the district include Albany Park, Avondale, Irving Park, Mayfair, North Mayfair, North Park and Ravenswood Manor.

According to new data released by the office of Chicago's Inspector General, the Albany Park District has fewer assigned officers than all but one other district in the city, but also experiences comparatively low crime.

Between Feb. 21, 2016 and Feb. 21, 2017, a total of 7,720 crimes were reported in the district, the third lowest in Chicago.
