Portage Park Home Burglaries Trigger Police Warning

CHICAGO — At least six homes have been burglarized in the Portage Park and Dunning neighborhoods since April 24, according to a police alert issued Friday.

The burglars entered the buildings "through doors and windows" and made off with items including jewelry, electronics, laptops and cash, police said.

The burglaries were reported at the following times and locations:

• Between 7:15 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on April 24 in the 5300 block of West Dakin Street

• Between 3 p.m. on May 3 and 1:15 p.m. on May 4 in the 3700 block of North Narragansett Avenue

• Between 7:30 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. on May 4 in the 3300 block of North Opal Avenue

• Between 9 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. on May 9 in the 5600 block of West Berenice Avenue

• At 1:49 p.m. on May 10 in the 5500 block of West Roscoe Street

• At 8:16 a.m. on May 10 in the 3800 block of North Sayre Avenue
