Police Warn Of String Of Car Thefts In Irving Park, Avondale Area

IRVING PARK — A half-dozen parked cars have been stolen off residential streets in recent weeks, according to a community alert issued by the Albany Park (17th) Police District.

Though thieves have been preying on cars left unlocked — and sometimes running — all of the autos mentioned in the alert were locked, police said.

The incidents took place in a cluster of streets in the Irving Park, Villa and Avondale areas:

• 3300 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, 9:30 am to 3 p.m., April 24.

• 3600 block of West Roscoe Street, 7:05 a.m., April 25.

• 3800 block of North Pulaski Road, 2:30-3 p.m., April 25.

• 3800 block of North St. Louis Avenue, 7:30 p.m., April 25.

• 4000 block of West Warwick Avenue, 7:10 a.m., April 27.

• 3300 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, 8 p.m., May 6.
