HYDE PARK — Two heavyweights in the political debate over tax reform will meet Tuesday for a discussion of President Donald Trump’s tax plan at the University of Chicago.
Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, and Austan Goolsbee, former chairman of the council of economic advisers under President Barack Obama, will run down Trump’s tax plan at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at Ida Noyes Hall, 1212 E. 59th St.
The two will talk about whether there is any chance of Republicans and Democrats striking a grand bargain over taxes and what effect tax reform, as currently presented, could have on the economy.
The Institute of Politics event is free and open to the public. Space is limited and registration on the event website is required.
