LINCOLN SQUARE — A robbery at Bloom Yoga Studio is the latest in a string of crimes against businesses on Rockwell Street near the Brown Line CTA station.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a robbery report at the studio, 4663 N. Rockwell St.

According to Police News Affairs, two men entered the studio, punched a 30-year-old employee and grabbed cash from the register, along with personal items belonging to another woman.

The suspects fled on foot, and officers were able to catch one and took him into custody. The other suspect remains at large.

Across from Bloom, Pizza Art Cafe, 4658 W. Rockwell St., was vandalized.

Owner Jasmn Beckto said he was alerted by neighbors on Tuesday night of an attempted break-in at the restaurant. He said he is not sure yet if anything was taken.

On Thursday, Beckto was reinforcing Pizza Art's front door and replacing the lock, for "more safety, more protection," he said.

The restaurant had previously been broken into seven or eight years ago, Beckto said, but he still considers the area safe.

"It's a big city," he said, when asked about crime.

In January, Ruff Haus Pets, 4652 N. Rockwell St., was targeted by thieves, who grabbed the shop's iPod. In that instance, an employee gave chase and assisted police in tracking down the suspects.
