CHICAGO — Local Goods Chicago, 5422 W. Devon Ave., will host a superhero-themed art fair Saturday to inaugurate a new expansion of the craft boutique's Edgebrook storefront, the owners announced.
The new annex will be used as a "blank canvas" to be adapted for "special events, classes and pop-up markets," store owner Laura Guenther said.
On Dress Like a Superhero Day from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, the annex will host a craft fair including "super hero and science fiction art" from local artist CN Factory and an action figure collection, on top of the crafts and prints from more than 100 artists sold in the main store.
A face-painting station and photo booth will also be part of the event, Guenther said.
For every visitor who answers the call and dons superhero getup for the event, part of their purchase will be donated to the Lurie Children's Hospital.
