DOWNTOWN — Pop starlet Alessia Cara and Grammy winning singer-songwriter Ben Harper are headlining this summer's Taste of Chicago.

Chicago-bred garage band Twin Peaks, indie electronica outfit Passion Pit and Hall of Fame R&B group The O'Jays will also play the big annual food festival running from July 5-9 in Grant Park.

The city released this year's Taste performers in advance of putting tickets for seats at Petrillo Band Shell up for sale at 10 a.m. Friday on the Taste's website. Admission to the Taste and Grant Park's lawn are always free.

Cara, 20, covered songs with her acoustic guitar on YouTube before ascending to fame two years ago. "Stay," her new single with Zedd, is currently the No. 7 song on the Billboard Hot 100 and is Cara's third Top 10 single. She also recently released "How Far I'll Go," the Oscar-nominated song from Disney's "Moana" penned by "Hamilton" composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
