Chicago Shootings Wound 8 Since Friday

CHICAGO — Eight people were shot in incidents citywide since Friday, police said.

In one incident a 15-year-old boy was injured in crossfire between two cars near McCormick Place.

In other shootings:

• A 24-year-old man was shot while sitting a car in an apparent West Lawn drive-by early Saturday morning. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition after being shot in his back.

The incident occurred at 2:40 a.m. in the 6100 block of South Kildare Avenue. Shots were fired from a passing white vehicle.

• A 36-year-old man was shot while driving in Chicago Lawn Friday night. He was driving north in the 6600 block of South Campbell Avenue at 11:05 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center after being shot in his right leg and abdomen.

• A 31-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park Friday night. The incident occurred at 9:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Drake Avenue.

He was getting out of a car when he heard three or four shots and fell to the ground. He was taken to Norwegian Hospital and is in good condition after being shot in his buttocks.

• Five minutes earlier, a 31-year-old man was shot in McKinley Park. He was riding in a car southbound in the 3800 block of South Wood Street when someone fired shots from a red SUV pulled alongside.

The victim was driven to St. Anthony's Hospital after being shot in his left shoulder. The incident occurred at 9:40 p.m.

• A 28-year-old man was shot in his upper back while sitting in a parked car in Brighton Park. He was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition.

The incident occurred in the 2600 block of West 44th Street at 8:30 p.m.

• A 32-year-old man was shot in his wrist and buttocks in North Lawndale. He was taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition.

The incident occurred in the 1600 block of South St. Louis Avenue at 7:45 p.m.

• In Kenwood, a 19-year-old man was shot in his hand in an afternoon drive-by. The incident occurred in the 4300 block of South Drexel Boulevard at 11 a.m.

Multiple shots were fired from a black four-door vehicle. The victim took himself to Mercy Hospital and is in good condition.

No arrests have been made in any of these incidents.
