WICKER PARK — Cabana Club, a rooftop lounge and bar that's part of the Robey and the Hollander hotel complex at Wicker Park's main intersection, will open May 7.
The hangout, its operators say, "will be a trendy new spot to sip, lay out and relax."
The public is welcome to sunbathe on the 160-seat outdoor deck or enjoy cocktails in an indoor 60-seat lounge that exudes "a vacation vibe," a spokeswoman for hotel operator Grupo Habita said.
But before you grab your swim goggles, be advised that the rooftop pool atop the three-story Hollander and wrapping around part of the adjacent Robey hotel tower, is for guests of the hotels only.
Located at 1616 N. Milwaukee Ave., the entrance to the Cabana Club is on the Milwaukee Avenue side of the lodging and retail complex, which straddles the northwest corner of Milwaukee and North avenues.
The cocktail and food menus are not available yet, but the spokeswoman said drinks — served day and night — will be "Mexican-inspired." And "Latin bites" will round out the food offerings.
The hours aren’t finalized, but for now, "it’s safe to say afternoon and night," the spokeswoman said. And folks who want to take their drinks from the indoor lounge to the poolside furniture will be permitted, she said.
