WOODLAWN — A 15-year-old girl was shot at as she ran away when a cellphone sale turned into a robbery in Woodlawn Tuesday, police said.

The robber fired shots at the girl about 3:10 p.m. Tuesday near 62nd Street and Kimbark Avenue, according to a University of Chicago Police Department security alert. The girl was not injured in the shooting, police said.

The girl was going to the corner to sell an iPhone, according to university police. But when she arrived to meet the man and a woman, the man pulled a handgun and said he was robbing her, according to the alert.

The man took the cellphone and shot at the girl as she ran east on 62nd Street, police said. The robber then ran to a waiting car and drove south on Kimbark Avenue with the woman he came with.

The Chicago Police Department is investigating, and so far no arrests have been made.
